11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. / Mary Kathleen Glavich and Abby L. Vandiver, “Hybrid Authors: Best of Both Worlds”
Two successful authors, two paths to becoming hybrid: Mary Kathleen Glavich went from traditionally published to self-published, and Abby L. Vandiver went from self-published to traditionally published, both for very good reasons. Hear their stories and learn the pros and cons of being hybrid authors.
Mary Kathleen Glavich is a Sister of Notre Dame. Among her dozens of spiritual books are the traditionally published The Catholic Companion to Mary and Praying on Empty, and the self-published historical romance, The Fisherman's Wife: The Gospel According to St. Peter's Spouse.
Abby L. Vandiver has self-published over 20 mystery and science fiction books and hit the Wall Street Journal Bestsellers list in 2017. That same year, she contracted with Henery Press for a three-book deal to pen the Romaine Wilder Mysteries series. The first book, Secrets, Lies and Crawfish Pies, came out in June. Abby is represented by Rachel M. Brooks at Bookends Literary Agency.
